Engineering practical energy solutions
BE&R provides independent engineering and project development support across conventional and emerging energy and fuel systems.
We help clients assess technologies, develop viable projects and optimise energy supply chains, with a practical focus on availability, security, efficiency and commercial performance.
Our experience spans established oil, gas and LNG infrastructure through to ammonia, hydrogen, methanol, sustainable aviation fuels, resource recovery and CO₂ transportation. We apply the same fundamental engineering and commercial disciplines to each: understand the requirement, assess the available technologies, define the infrastructure and determine what can be delivered safely, reliably and economically.

Energy solutions
need to work in the real world
Energy projects are increasingly shaped by competing requirements for reliability, cost, security of supply, emissions performance and access to infrastructure.
There is rarely a single technology or fuel that provides the optimum solution for every application.
BE&R provides independent advice to help clients understand the trade-offs between different energy pathways. We consider technology maturity, energy efficiency, infrastructure requirements, logistics, availability, CAPEX and OPEX, regulatory requirements and the practicalities of operating at the required scale.
Our objective is straightforward: identify solutions that can be engineered, financed, constructed and operated successfully.
Our Energy & Fuels Experience
Engineering and project support across conventional energy developments, including onshore gas facilities, LNG supply chains, import and export infrastructure, storage, regasification and marine transportation.
BE&R combines facilities and marine engineering expertise to assess the complete energy supply chain, from source through transportation and infrastructure to the end user.
BE&R has extensive experience developing small-scale LNG supply chains for power generation, industrial users and marine applications.
Our work includes LNG sourcing, liquefaction, ISO container and bulk transportation, storage, regasification, bunkering and the integration of onshore and marine infrastructure.
BE&R supports the development of future fuel production, export, transportation and marine bunkering infrastructure.
We provide independent engineering and technical advisory services for hydrogen based fuel developments, including technology assessment, project due diligence, export infrastructure and integration with existing energy systems.
Our role is to help clients understand both the potential and the practical constraints of deploying these fuels at commercial scale.
BE&R supports the assessment and development of projects capable of producing sustainable aviation fuels and other lower-carbon liquid fuels.
Our capability combines technology assessment, process and facilities engineering, project economics, due diligence and experience evaluating emerging fuel-production pathways.
BE&R has practical project-development experience applying pyrolysis technology to recover value from waste materials.
Our work encompasses technology assessment, concept development, feasibility studies, process integration, project economics, business-case development and support through the wider project-development and approvals process.
Carbon capture projects require infrastructure capable of collecting, conditioning, transporting, storing and transferring CO₂ safely and economically.
BE&R applies its facilities, marine and logistics experience to the development of CO₂ transportation systems, shipping solutions and import and export infrastructure.
BE&R works with asset owners to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, improve operating efficiency and lower emissions while considering implementation cost, operational constraints and return on investment.
From opportunity to delivery
BE&R can support an energy development from the earliest assessment of an opportunity through concept development and project execution.
Our services include:
- Market, technology and opportunity assessment
- Concept development and feasibility studies
- Process and facilities engineering
- Energy supply-chain and logistics studies
- Technology and vendor assessment
- CAPEX, OPEX and project economic assessment
- Technical due diligence and lenders’ technical advisory
- Owner’s engineering and project delivery
- Marine transportation, terminals and bunkering infrastructure
- Operational and energy-efficiency assessments
Our multidisciplinary approach allows the technical, commercial, marine, logistics and operational elements of a project to be considered together rather than in isolation.
