A Confidential client identified an opportunity to export gas from the WA domestic market to proximal South East Asian/Pacific markets using LNG Isotainers. This virtual pipeline project to deliver gas to target markets via sea, road and/or rails is a niche opportunity to create value by using existing infrastructure. The client investigated the options of building required size facilities in Australia at the desired locations.
Efficiently and economically export and deliver small volumes of LNG to China, captured from West Australia’s gas rich regions.
BE&R identified and developed concepts for the surface facilities required to economically capture, process, transport and distribute LNG into Asian markets.
BE&R scope included developing specifications for integrated liquefaction facilities at desired locations, determining the type of technology required to liquefy the gas at a small scale, developing preliminary layout of facilities, schedules, risks and opportunities, Class V CAPEX and OPEX estimates, challenges in exporting Isotainers to China and determining target markets to be captured in the future.
BE&R delivered the project with detailed insights into shipping LNG via Isotainer to China and other potential markets including PNG, East Timor, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.
The risks and opportunities relative to different locations were developed along with the infrastructure required to deliver the gas through virtual pipeline.
