What We Do
Concept Development
Effective assessment of the range of potential development options is crucial in determining the most appropriate investment solution for a project.
In the concept development phase BE&R first seeks to identify the client’s key drivers and the critical elements of the project. These drivers and critical elements are then incorporated into the evaluation criteria for the project development options. These elements can relate to technical, commercial, economic, or regulatory issues.
Project development options are generally constructed utilising a “building block” approach, where each building block consists of major or critical component of the development. The development options are then scored and ranked based on the project specific evaluation criteria.
BE&R has a broad range of experience in undertaking concept development studies including offshore fixed and floating facilities, SSLNG import and export facilities and transportation of energy related products.
BE&R partners with complementary organizations to provide capabilities beyond its core expertise. Through this collaboration, BE&R has the ability to conduct a fully integrated assessment of a development from upstream to downstream and select the optimum development option to meet the business objectives.
BE&R has recently been involved in a variety of studies across Australia and South East Asia. These have included:
- Floating production concept selection studies
- LNG import studies
- LNG bunkering studies
- SSLNG transportation and distribution – offshore and onshore
- Onshore and floating regasification facility studies
- Offshore development options study for marginal offshore fields
